How about a little Can/USWNT history instead of sniping at each other?

US vs Canada at Four Nations Cup, China (January 16, 2008)

Why is this game notable?

  • First caps for Ali Krieger and Becky Sauerbrunn.
  • First first start (not cap) for Amy Rodriguez, who scored her first 2 goals. 
  • Lindsay Tarpley added two goals
  • The US won 4-0, with rookie defenders on the backline shutting out Christine Sinclair. A solid debut for two of our current favs.
  • This was just one in a long line of games between the US and Canada that were just that. Games. This current drama is so overblown, people.
  • Carli Lloyd wore #11; Krieger wore #27. Funny, that.
